Since Ohio architect James M. Alt began the firm in 1983, ALT Architecture, Inc. has been committed to what we call "Intelligent Architecture." Simply put, this philosophy demands a thorough knowledge of zoning, building codes, financing, consumer opinion, industry standards, technologies and building materials – everything that impacts how architecture functions in the real world. Following this knowledge-based approach, we are able to guide you through a maze of issues and formulate an excellent design solution that will most appropriately serve your needs.
This philosophy has grown to encompass the entire range of services we provide. In response to client requests we are frequently involved in a project from the business concept development stage right through site selection, programming, financing, zoning, building design, construction, equipment planning and acquisition. Our involvement in all these phases can help to ensure that your project remains on budget and focused on the initial business intent. Our diversity enables us to recreate ourselves as necessary for large or small projects.
We have also embraced the technological changes in our profession and in our society, changes which have directly impacted the design and management of our buildings. For us, that means CAD programs, internet file transfers, project management software, web cam real time access, etc. We also understand how computers affect building design; we assist you in the selection of technologies which can actually reduce building costs and our consulting fees, such as computer-controlled equipment to make the building more efficient or to reduce the number of employees required to operate the building's systems, file storage systems, and video monitoring systems.
In practice, our design team is aggressive in their attention to detail and budget – as our client you expect and receive serious attention to the bottom line. And to ensure our philosophy is reflected in everything we do, our Principal is directly involved with your project start to finish; proper leadership is integral to delivering our Intelligent Architecture.
